12 Gwinnett County Top Consignment Shops

Gwinnett County residents and tourists enjoy a variety of shopping choices that satisfy their requirements for new, unused goods, including national chains and locally-owned operators in standalone stores, strip centers, lifestyle centers and shopping malls.  The frugal shopping habits of environmentally-minded millennials in general, however, are leading to the emergence of other channels, models offering used, good-condition, substitutable gear at much lower prices.  There were at least 35 thrift stores across Gwinnett County in July 2019, retailers of various sizes and product mixes that endeavored to address the needs of value shoppers with donated merchandise that avoided landfills.  Of course, risks accompanied those drastically low prices since the condition of the product was not always easily assessed prior to the non-refundable purchase.  In this 2019 Back-to-School Season, Gwinnett County consignment shops may offer some peace of mind to those seeking to avoid those risks.

What is a Consignment Shop?

In general, products available for sale at consignment shops have been left there in the possession of the operator, a consignor charged with finding a buyer for it in exchange for a commission.  Having already been personally evaluated by the owner based on history and other market knowledge, the products available for sale are typically the right mix, niche and competitively priced to sell quickly, so you'll want to find your favorite store, get to know the staff and visit often to find the best stuff.

Types of local consignment shops

The consignments shops on this list primarily fall into two categories, apparel and home goods, though some sold other merchandise.  Apparel shops sold clothing for either kids, ladies or the entire family, some even offering formal attire.  The home goods shops featured wall art, furniture, lamps and home décor.  All were fully staffed, stocked and tastefully merchandised in well-lit stores with plenty of parking spaces nearby.
